Cherylynn of Logan's House

My name is Tasha Tolliver

I have been a dog lover since I was a child, and was raised with a basset hound called Edgar, and a springer spaniel called Cookie. During the pandemic, our children started campaigning to add a dog to our family. We met Logan as a 12-week-old puppy in October 2020 and fell in love immediately. I worked from home for the next 2.5 years and we were always together. I worried about what we would do if I got called back to the office. I began to look for dog daycares and realized that I didn’t have any convenient choices. I didn’t want to go 20 minutes out of my way before work each day. We had major issues finding grooming services, waiting up to 6 weeks for an appointment. It was then that I got the crazy idea to open Logan’s House. I’ve been part of Corporate America as a finance professional for more than 25 years, and this is the scariest thing I’ve ever done! When I got laid off in April 2023 (3 weeks after Logan’s House opened!), I got the opportunity to hang out with the pups everyday for 10 weeks. I got really close to the dogs! My husband Keith and our 4 kids are also actively involved in the shop. I still have a “day job,” but I’m confident that someday I will be able to spend every day with the dogs. I’m in constant contact with the managers, and I’m always available if you need me. You can reach me at 224-572-1909 ext. 3.

When I’m not at Logan’s House, I like to spend time with my wife, Tasha, and our 4 children. I’ve had dogs my entire life and have always had an easy relationship with them. I work at a company nearby during the day, and have worked and lived in Illinois since 2000. We made the decision to open Logan’s House partially because we were so unhappy with the grooming services we were receiving at a “big box” retailer nearby. I love watching how patient our groomers are with the dogs. We treat every dog that comes to us the way we would want others to treat Logan. He used to shake like a leaf on the way in and out of grooming appointments and we try to make sure that every dog that leaves Logan’s House leaves happy.

I have been in the industry for about 7 years. I have an English Bulldog named Caesar, who is my pride and joy. I started off as a receptionist at a dog daycare and have since dabbled in everything dog related. I am certified in Canine CPR and First Aid. I love working with the “troubled” dogs because I love seeing how they slowly put their trust in me over time with lots of love and comfort. Big dogs are my favorite to be around since I grew up with Saint Bernard’s. In my free time I spend time with Caesar or doing some freelance photography!
